ssomenzi STV is the first id I used on the first computer that asked me for one. From that day STV has been with me in many occasions. I thought it was right to bring it here with me.

My name is Stefano Somenzi, I sarted working in the ICT market back in 1981, while I was attending University in Milan to get a degree in Computing Science.

I started developing software for the 6502 platform and as a consultant for Olivetti. When my work had a frontal crash against the 1 year mandatory military service I leveraged the opportunity to finish my studies with a dissertation on “Collaborative applications for local area networks” under the (bewildered? :-) observation of Giorgio de Michelis and Gianni Degli Antoni.

I later worked for Olivetti, Microsoft, Novell and Cisco till 2001. In 2001 I managed for KKR the spin-off of the italian PBX division of the Bosch group as Managing Director and General Manager of the newco named Tenovis, till it got sold to Avaya.

In 2005 Stefano Venturi has called me back in Cisco as Director of Commercial Operations.

Today I’m the Managing Partner of RtM Consulting, a managment consulting firm that uses Out-Smart™, the first ever Open Source Management Consulting Methodology, to help customers realize their business dreams.

What can I say, till now I got a lot of fun and from 1996 I got a first line seat to watch (and partecipate :-) to the Internet big-bang.

On top of technologies and riding my Ducati, my hobby is to measure people passion for what they do and, if they allow me, to help them put even more passion in it.
